OZARK HIGHLANDS TRAIL IN ARKANSAS: SECTIONS (West to East)
The following section designations and mileages are from p. 7 of Tim Ernst's "Ozark Highlands Trail Guide, Third Edition", 1994. The OHT is numbered with mile posts every mile starting from mile 0.0 near Lake Fort Smith State Park in western Arkansas to mile 165.0 at the eastern end at Woolum on the Buffalo River. The final connecting section links the OHT and Missouri Ozark Trail is planned (9/97). Links for all sections except the final section on the list are to the OHT website. The link for the OHT-OZT connecting section is a "best-guess" route map and is NOT official. Tim Ernst's book mentions calling the Park Service at Buffalo National River, P.O. Box 1173, Harrison, AR 72602, phone (501) 741-5443 for further information on the eastern extensions to OHT and the OZT linkup. Note the total length of the OHT when it is linked to OZT-MO will be about 245-250 miles.
