Arkansas Counties with or near the OZARKS HIGHLAND TRAIL (shown in orange on the map). Mile 0.0 is at the Lake Fort Smith State Park western trail head. The southern body of water in blue is the Arkansas River. The upper blue line is the Buffalo national Scenic River which flows into Norfolk Lake in Baxter county. The northern trail head will connect with the Missouri OZARK TRAIL.
