Overview: This 10 mile section of OZT extends from the southern boundary of Blair Creek (section 11) at Peck Ranch Wildlife Management Area to the junction with section 13, Between the Rivers, at U.S. Hwy 60. It forms the southern terminus of the western division of the OZT main loop. The section lies within the Doniphan/Eleven Point River Ranger District of the U.S. Forest Service. The section name derives from the Current River, a major part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways administered by the National Park Service. The Current River headwaters are 7 springs located within the confines of Montauk State Park near Salem in Dent County. From there the river pursues a southeasterly then a southerly route that runs beside this section of the OZT.
